Development as Ever Elusive
What is development? There are so, so many "developments" that it escapes meaningful definition. There is early childhood development, real estate development, business development, personal development, and on and on. All these forms share a common idea of transformation, change, progress, betterment. Yet they also imply a never satisfied process, an unattainable goal.
International development - the topic of this course - is equally elusive as its "development" cousins in other fields. It is an idea that we all strive for but are never quite able to hold, and more importantly, are never happy with. There is always more development to be done, but that doesn't mean things can't get better along the way.
